Welcome

Hello everyone,

Welcome to ChicagoHOPES, an acronym for Chicago Heightening Opportunity and Potential for Educational Success. ChicagoHopes is an initiative through Chicago Public School, Homeless Education Program that empowers homeless students to succeed academically. We collaborate with schools, shelters, and communities to establish shelter-based, after-school tutoring and cultural enrichment opportunities. This educational support, provided by committed and caring volunteers, will help students to break the cycle of homelessness that threatens their futures and communities.

We currently serve seven separate distinct shelters throughout the Chicagoland area. These include: Maria's in in Englewood; Thelma's in Ashburn Park; Tab South in Gresham; Tab West in East Garfield Park; Great Hope in Little Village/Pilsen; Ubuntu in Brighton Park and Cornerstone Connection Community Center in Uptown.

ChicagoHopes provides a monthly newsletter with volunteer profiles, partnership profiles, as well as other interesting projects going on. So come on and check us out!

Your input is important to us. Please discuss any thoughts, suggestions and or resources that can contribute to the overall progress of our program.
